In current times, our planet's precious oceans and seas are facing a
variety of threats, including the use of fishing methods that are
unsustainable and damaging for marine life. Trawling, a method of fishing
that entails pulling a fishing net through the water behind one or more
boats, is one such fishing technique that has a cascade of negative effects
on marine ecosystems.
Is it possible to reduce the negative impacts of trawling without adversely
affecting local livelihoods?
