*---------Research assistant in population genetics and biogeography*
*Project*: Biogeography and population genetics of Rhododendrons (SERB-DST
funded): with molecular markers (sequence data and microsatellites) the
following questions will be investigated: evolutionary relationship 1.
among various Rhododendron arboreum populations (phylogeography) and 2.
among different species of Rhododendrons distributed across Himalayas
(historical biogeography).
At conservation genetics lab, ATREE, Bangalore
*Qualifications and skills*: Master’s degree in Biology, Ecology,
Agriculture, Botany, Forestry, or equivalent in any related discipline.
Person should be well-versed with DNA extraction, PCR methodology and
agarose gel running.
*Project duration: *6-12 months, extendable upon performance and funding.
*Start date: Immediate fill-up from *February, 2015
*Fellowship: *INR 8,000 p.m consolidated, but will hiked to 12,000
after 3rd month (depending on performance).
The person would share authorship in all scientific publications depending
on the amount of work done.
