Broadcasters come across as arrogant lot, don't they? They seem to think they own the content they transmit and have the supreme and exclusive right to deliver that content to everyone and everything in their market! Why does the phone company offer both hard-line and wireless service which are separate and distinct? Why do cable companies who own wireless phone companies desire to transmit their TV signals to their mobile phone customers? The solution for broadcasters is stupidly simple. Buy or lease spectrum and transmit your signal in a standard method intended for mobile reception. Same source material...2 transmitted signals. Heck, if you guys were REALLY smart, you might have hit up the government for maybe 2 extra channels in each major market which all the broadcasters could share to transmit a mobile signal. Oh well. Live and learn.
