How predicable from Craig. Once again, if there's any truth to this rumor that
OTA antennas are flying off the shelves, it seems to me that there are more
than just a few people using it. But I would certainly not trust today's FCC,
or Craig, to make that determination.

Because people were speculating previously that "voluntary" did not mean they
could opt out. People were speculating that broadcasters could "voluntarily"
drop OTA service altogether, or share spectrum with another broadcaster. Not
that they could keep on using a 6 MHz channel, as they are today.

Because if two broadcasters who are forced to share a channel, each use their
multicast capacity today, they will have no room left for the M/H traffic. They
would similarly have no room left for DVB-H traffic, either.

We have it now. I would agree that a move to DVB-T2 would perhaps provide
enough mobile performance that even without dedicated DVB-H subchannels, mobile
devices could sort of be given service. At least, closer in to the
transmitters. Maybe not in the suburbs.
