[opendtv] Re: DRM and AACS does nothing but annoy...

Back before the courts declared the Broadcast Flag invalid there was
starting to be a serious push towards cheap software radio. If the
A-hole restrictions ever become common (thus keeping OTA media off
computers) then I expect a large resurgence of interest in software
radio that can easily get around this.

It's kinda funny in a way. Most digital tv/cable/sat shows are now
available for illegal download one place or another and I don't think
almost any of them of any quality are done from any kind of analog
capture anymore.

Though for matching most Internet quality I've always said you could
just point an HD camcorder at a non blinking LCD display in a cardboard
box if you wanted, HDMI or not.

The whole thing is an exercise in futility.
