The Library of Congress’ National Audio Visual Conservation Center in Culpeper, Virginia requires two expert consultants in audiovisual file-based workflows, networking & firewall-based security for a period of one year each. Work to start within the next 90 days. Compensation for each position is a GS-15 equivalent, commensurate with experience. The consultants will develop the NAVCC automated QC (quality control) plus archive and proxy file production from original source files. The consultants will work with installed hardware/software packages to configure the systems properly, develop any needed scripting or software configuration, configure firewalls and related security systems, document the systems and any required changes, and work with hardware/software vendors to enable files to be properly processed as required. Work location shall be in Culpeper, Virginia, with typically a 40 hour work week Monday to Friday. Occasional travel to Library of Congress facilities in Washington, DC may be necessary.
