Hey Bert...
This is EXACTLY what I predicted will happen.
Hardly, Craig. You "predicted" that OTT sites would never be able to replace
legacy MVPDs, because you thought that live TV was all-important. And for
some reason, you thought that OTT sites would never carry live TV.
I showed you that (a) OTT sites can very easily carry live TV, e.g. All
Access (and the foreign sites), and that the convincing majority of TV
viewers doesn't even want most of their TV to be "live." But did this stop
your arguing? Nope.
Hulu wants to offer what is known as a “skinny bundle” of broadcast and cable
channels — in particular those operated by 21st Century Fox, the Walt Disney
Company and Comcast’s NBCUniversal. Those three media companies co-own Hulu.
At least you should be happy that these congloms are ready to stick
it to the traditional MVPD services.
Which I told you from the start could happen anytime. Because the neutral
Internet already exists, hence the content owners hold all the cards. So, OTA
broadcasters and legacy MVPDs have to redefine their contributions. MVPDs
have begun to, with broadband.
