Higher Speed HDMI (the first to support 30/36-bit 1080p) to be demo'd (how??? HD-DVD or BLU-RAY???) in various HDTV's at CES2006: http://www.tvtechnology.com/hd_notebook/one.php?id=580 HDTV's with 1080p interface are presumably to be available by Spring, just in time for Summer release of Sony's Blu-Ray Player. It appears that the HDMI v.1.3 may be further along than expected....or maybe these are just demo units and the DRM features are still being hammered out....and blundgeoned.....and crunched......and so forth.... Recall that current HDMI versions don't have all the latest DRM stuff and hence reluctance to commit HDTV 1080p interface designs to a moving target. Is there any current HDTV that isn't backward compatible with 24-bit DVI interface via HDMI (Type A) interface....and NO MORE???? Hence, they don't implement double data rate HDMI (Type B) that is required for 30/36-bit color pallet. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Photos Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars.
