You guys in Canada must be deprived, since your television appears to be in the business of only transmitting reruns and rehashes (old information.) In spite of my friend Mark Hyman being the spokesperson for Sinclair and the point man there on this issue, I think that they've shot themselves in the foot on this one, particularly in context with them offering News Central to stations. As any news person will tell you, the only antidote for bad information (which Sinclair seems to think the broadcast contained) is more information. Not less. The broadcast was not in bad taste. (Who cares of the motivation?) It was more equivocal than the "Honor Roll" of fallen GIs that is part of every NewsHour broadcast, but more powerful by being in one location. I'm in favor of the war, and I believe that by not showing the broadcast, Sinclair was signalling that they believe they're more pro-war than are their viewers. If so, the move was manipulative. I see no good coming out of it. And yes, that's exactly what the public should be deciding. Just as they do for every other show on television. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Willkie" <johnwillkie@xxxxxxxxxx> > > What new information is the broadcast conveying, pray tell?
