Yes, but that's the sort of problem a motivated manufacturer solves
immediately, if not sooner.
Or, perhaps, could it be a chain store policy in support of selling the
stuff that brings in a secondary revenue stream; Satellite and cable

Question Bert: did you ever receive an answer to your questioning as to
why
the new Samsung receiver, which clearly works very well, is in
such short
supply (store only allowed three per order)? Clearly 8VSB can't
work well
and could be dead, if the good hardware is not made available
in anywhere
near the volumes required to put a dent in the reception problems.
