Like I said at the very beginning of this fiasco, any attempt to repeal net

public furor - and frustration too.
No Bert. These threats are from a bunch of crazy yahoos who are trying to end
Constitutional government in the United States. There is no more widespread
public furor over the FCC decision to end Title II regulation of the internet
than there was two years ago when Obama ordered Wheeler to use Title II.
As I pointed out to you REPEATEDLY during the run up to the decision, there are
two statistics that are relevant:
1. The vast majority of Americans support the fundamental principles of Net
Neutrality - no blocking, no throttling.
2. The majority of Americans DO NOT support heavy handed regulation of the
Internet under Title II.
The reality is that we have a young generation that has been the product of a
corrupted public education system; they have been programmed to believe that
capitalism is the root of all evil, and that only government can protect them
and their safe spaces.
This is not idle speculation - I am living this reality with my son.
Fortunately iI also have a daughter (and her family) that have managed to work
hard and now enjoy the American dream.
The contrast could not be more starke, and frankly frightening. This is the
same divide we see playing out today with anything that politics touches, which
is now just about everything.
And still, our stubborn FCC Chairman insists on demonstrating, to the entire
world, how the stereotypical banana republic corrupted government official
behaves.
No Bert. Our FCC did exactly what it should have. Reverse the decision by the
previous administration, which is now being exposed for the kind of Banana
Republic tactics that are finally being exposed to the light of day.
This is not a dictatorship. No one here feels obliged to revere public
officials, especially those who appear to be on the take. Instead of learning
that lesson, he has to confine himself to the lunatic fringe extremist press,
to air his views. As in that disjointed article a couple of days ago, which
had no clue which end was up. Attempting to compensate, for profound
ignorance, with an overabundance of pointless prose.
But you DO REVERE the politicians and public officials who joined with corrupt
industrialists a century ago to create the natural monopolies that have played
a ajar role in creating the less we are in now. For some reason you LIKE to pay
monopoly pricing, with layers of taxes and fees piled on, for essential
services that we cannot live without.
And you have protested bitterly against the deregulation of telecommunications,
despite the fact that deregulation and competition have brought us a wide range
of innovative new services, at a fraction of the cost of the monopoly services
they have replaced.
The only good news is that publishing the misguided order was the next step
necessary, before the courts can effectively censure this corrupted
government agency.
Yes...real progress!
And then there's this ironic sentence:
"For both Pai and the whole of the FCC, the uptick in security concerns also
presents a serious challenge to their ability to discuss critical tech policy
issues in public view - without jeopardizing their safety or the wellbeing of
others in attendance."
"Discuss"? What "discuss"? This Chairman "proclaims," he doesn't discuss.
Everyone has figured that out, by now. I think it's fair to say, he has lost
the public's trust. He needs to step down.
I would venture to say that if we did public opinion polls for regulators like
Pai, he would have much more support than Congress or the President. Then
again, almost any poll today is going to be highly polarized.
It is a sad commentary that the radical progressives and socialists have
nothing left in their bag of tricks other than threats and violence, whether it
is to suppress speech on college campuses, to threaten - even shoot - public
officials, to claim that cops are the problem and kill them... in short, to
resist the return to constitutional government.
Who knew it would reach the level that the safety of attendees at CES would be
threatened...
Regards
Craig
