I think also Australia and Norway are doing this, even without the H.264 requirement France has. Instead, the UK and also Italy, best I can tell, are making both H.264 and DVB-T2 prerequisites for OTA HD. But as far as I have seen, there are no mandates yet for built-in DVB-T2 receivers in TV sets yet. Even though Italy has had a built-in DVB-T receiver mandate for several years already. > But for people that had only an SD TV, they > obviously had to buy a new TV set anyway, and it > is now mandatory to have an integrated TNT HD > receiver in those devices, so this may not be such > a visible problem, except for the early adopters. That's the way I see the DVB-T2 requirement in the UK and Italy. Might as well make people buy the whole enchilada at once, when they go for HD, GIVEN THAT the current crop of OTA built-in receivers or STBs can only handle MPEG-2 MP at ML. The upgrade requirement becomes hidden, but it's still there. Bert _________________________________________________________________ The New Busy is not the too busy.
