Geez, talk about a non-problem, from a consumer's point of view. Just say no.
Let the broadcasters battle it out with their own networks, to allow their
content on other media. Or, use an antenna.
Pluto TV (Viacom's "free" ad-supported streaming service) sent out a
questionnaire some time ago, asking if we'd be interested in getting the local
channels live. I said sure, why not. This is the type of evolution that is
likely to take place.
There's no "there" there, in my opinion. This is the whining of an era gone by.
This weird death-wish of the legacy MVPD media, asking for more and more
subscription fees, to compensate for the mass exodus of subscribers. Positive
feedback, this is called in electronics. Does not lead to stability. It does
exactly the opposite.
