Very interesting! So now I'm confused. Do people actually want HDR, or are they
wowing over HDR to SDR conversion. From your presentation, including the
CALM-type considerations, what is "the best bang for the bit" appears to me to
be HDR to SDR conversion.
It's the same problem that plagues audio. We all want high dynamic range, but
of we're interested in retaining our hearing, it's not practical. We're hardly
ever in an environment that can do justice to high dynamic range, safely, with
audio.
