Geez, guys. Only large, premium, OLED TVs? Again, playing the hard-to-get
game. One wonders why the continued shyness. Last time around, the TV makers

that will ever happen.
Gees Bert...
We’re talking about a consumer electronics company heavily invested in ATSC
3.0. They already have a market in Korea, and would love to skim off a few high
end customers here in the U.S., willing to spend big bucks on a premium OLED TV
(the added cost of the ATSC 3.0 receiver is in the noise level for these TVs).
As for the continued shyness...
There was a VERY LIMITED market for ATSC 1.0 receivers after the launch of HDTV
in the U.S. The VAST MAJORITY of these receivers have never been used. The
market for ATSC 3.0 will be a tiny fraction of that for ATSC 1.0, as broadcast
competitors in the streaming TV business have already delivered almost
everything ATSC 3.0 has to offer.
Time to recover the rest of the UHF TV spectrum and build out a “national
broadcast TV network” in the VHF spectrum. This is not a new idea - the FCC
once considered high powered VHF super stations rather than creating more than
100 TV markets in the U.S.
