Why do analysts/journalists put out crap like this?
The CRA is not going to pass, and even if it did the President won’t sign it.
There is no way they can get 2/3s of Congress to override a veto.
The States have no standing, so that path may play out in the courts, but will
ultimately fail.
The best hope these zealots have is for the DC district court to overturn or
stay Pai FCC order. If they do this the Supreme Court will take it up and point
out to the District Court that they overstepped they authority and reversed the
2005 Supreme Court decision upholding the classification of ISPs as an
information service...Game Over.
Meanwhile, the real Net Neutrality violations by powerful Edge Providers are
being exposed; these violations have very real consequences here in the U.S.
and around the world.
Throttling an entertainment TV program is not in the same ballpark. Compounding
the problem by having politicians and regulators pick winners while
“throttling” competitors is even worse.
And then there is the minor detail that Congress told the FCC and other
regulators to keep their hands off the Internet; It’s time for Congress to say
this again, with REAL LEGISLATED Authority.
