Because the updates go wrong, MS even has people touring computershops to repair the updates. If you don't want to wait you have to pay the shop to do it for you. Often this means fallback to win 7. So pay a couple of hundred bucks for nothing.

Win 7 works, why upgrade. If I was using win8 with all the issues of no satrtmenu and touch focus,perhaps. And of course windowsinstalls degenerate over the years, so update is not a good ide, and re-install is not something nice if you have all kinds of old utilities installed, that you can't even find anymore.
