You keep making the same old arguments about what > MVPDs provide, as if we were stuck in 1985. Some simple math Bert. 85% of U.S. homes still subscribe to some form of MVPD service. Average U.S. home watches more than 30 hours of TV per week, the vast majority of which come via the MVPD infrastructure. While it is growing rapidly, the number of hours of Internet TV viewed is still quite small compared to the hours delivered via MVPD and broadcast. A cable system would need to rebuild much of its plant, eliminating analog service and adding switched IP at the neighborhood level to transition to an all IP delivery system. We ain't there yet… But we keep getting a bit closer!
