I more took the phrasing to mean he was "popping out to the chemists
to get some bark that would be good for treating Red Death",
not that he was "going to get enough supplies to cure a disease that
was currently decimating his whole country", if you see what I mean.
But that notwithstanding,
it would be a question of how long the sea voyage from (say) Suhn to Port Bax
would take.
