List excised, but in general I think any onomatopoeic verb should be left in Roman print. If it's in verb form, the word is no longer actually emulating the sound but rather describing something in the action of making the sound, so it would seem silly to italicize.

I agree. I would imagine that any onomatopoeic words suffixed with -s or -ing would certainly *not* be italicised; thing is, when I looked online for some kind of definite explanation of this, I couldn't find anything. Maybe I need to brush up on my Google-fu.

Beyond this, I would also imagine there are certain words that, while being onomatopoeic in origin, are so widely used as to no longer require italicisation in print. That's why I raised this huge list: so that we can once and for all resolve this and we need never speak of it again. Ever. Period. :-D

(Subsequent lists of Errata should hopefully be shorter and more focused.)

BTW did you find anything in your read-through of Wolf's Bane that needs adding to the Errata lists? Even if you didn't, I'd like to add you to the list of Editors because you were prepared to work on it, since few Project Aon fans tend to have both (a) access to the final 10 books (19-28) and (b) time to spend volunteering for Project Aon. ;-)
