Subject: New Open Source Gamebook Reader: The Gamebook Engine (I would like to
join Project Aon)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wrote a free and open source gamebook engine, called "The Gamebook Engine".
Here is it's homepage: http://www.freegameengines.org/gamebook-engine/
The Gamebook Engine uses the same format as the Hyena Audiogame player:
http://www.projectaon.org/staff/jens/ . I originally had my own xml-based
format, but before I started programming The Gamebook Engine, I discovered
Hyena, and liked the format. The gamebook community needs less formats, not
more (we probably have more than half as many formats as we do books).
I would like to include Flight From the Dark with my game engine. I realize
that in order to do that, I would need to host the download on the Project Aon
Servers. May I do that? I also realize that in order to distribute Jens'
01fftd.gamebook file, I would need to get his permission as well. I will ask
Jens directly after (if) I get permission to host my project download on the
Project Aon servers.
