The following was sent from the Project Aon contact form From: Alain alain@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: 02:01:13 on Sunday, August 10, 2008 Subject: Legal status of an eventual new Italian translation ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi all, How are you? My compliments for the project. It really seems a great idea realised with passion and quality. I'm a professional games translator and I have always been fascinated by the Lone Wolf universe. After seeing the Nintendo DS game reader, I thought that I would really love to do an Italian version of "Flight from the dark" for that. I got in touch with the author of the soft and I'm waiting for his reply. What I would like to ask you, as the maintainers of the source materials, is informations about the legal status of the eventual translation. Yes, the original book were graciously provided by Joe Dever for Internet reading and, yes, an eventual new translation would be done from scratch by me and therefore free from previous Italian translators and publisher rights. However, there might be some extra legal stuff I'm not aware of... Do you have any information on the matter and if it's possible to do such voluntary work within the bounds of the law? Let me know!
