We do not want to set any precedents like this. Kirk said it well and I will
not repeat. I too would be open to working with anyone in a hardship but... If
someone hits hard times the time to chat with us is in the beginning not 20
years later after being asked time after time to pay their fair share. If you
lose your job or whatever the case, talk to us and I think everyone would be
ready to help. I will stand firm on PAY YOUR BILLS. Pay $2265.00 plus the fee
to remove the lien.

Times are tough, I get it, and I’m not an ogre, but I also don’t care to be
the punchline of the joke either. I’m okay with a reduced late fee fine, so #2
is good, or I’d even be ok with 1800, as a smaller round number, and there is
still a penalty, which seems like a decent compromise. To quote Thomas Sowell,
“There are no solutions, only tradeoffs”.
My apologies for the novel. I would need more info regarding our neighbor’s
circumstances to change my mind either way.

We have a resident who owes $2,265 in dues.
She wants to pay as much as she can but is asking for a reduction of bill.
Late fees are about $650.
I will suggest one of three things:
1. She pay everything including late fees totaling $2,265.
2. She pay $2,000 and we forgive $265 or
3. She pay $1,615 and we forgive late charges of $650.
Moreover, either choice will be paid in equal installments of quarterly, within
a year, until paid up.
