Snabbkoll på de fyra litterära priserna roman, kortroman, långnovell, novell.
(Det är för mycket jobb att kolla ALLA nomineringar. Dessutom är en del
"mediakategorier" mer intressanta för mediafans, och inte riktigt sf-fans.)
Snabb genomräkning får det till att 18 olika författare nominerades i de
litterära kateorierna. 8 var män, 10 kvinnor. Det är mycket bättre
representation än i Nebula-nomineringarna. Majoriteten av manliga författare
var iaf 44% av nomineringarna, minoriteten kvinnliga författare var 56% av de
nominerade. (I Nebula var bara 18% frtån majorieten manliga författare.)
Att nomineringarna är mindre ideologiskt belastade i Hugon beror med all
säkerhet på att det inte är författarna själva (kulturpersoner som tenderar att
ha höga tankar om sig själva) som nominerar, utan läsarna, i form av alla som
blvit medlemmar av kongressen. Det finns dock fortfarande förvridande faktorer
då olika fraktioner torde ha försökt bedriva nomineringskampanjer (WSJ Vs
Puppies, typ).
