I also question what an assistant HC does. That feels like it could be
anything from an honorary to a hands-on role, whereas an OC or a DC feels
like a more defined responsibility to me as an outsider.

I think Flores would have still taken the DC spot. He is likely appreciative
of Tomlin's help, but needs to get back out there and show why he was a HC
in the first place without being in MT's shadow.

PS I do laugh at the current social media narrative that the Steelers should
be going after Bieniemy to fill in the not vacant spot. I do think he might
be open to an OC spot to prove he can run the show without Andy , but we
don't have one open right now ( sadly)
