I don’t know his sister or his daughter, so I haven’t attempted to contact
either of them.

I’m not sure of when he died and I don’t at this stage have any more
information regarding Ray’s passing, other than he was in failing health for
many months (if memory serves, I believe he had a foot amputated last year)
but I don’t know any more than that.
I messaged his Facebook page yesterday as Penny had used that to let Tom
Bartoli know of his passing, expressing my condolences and if I hear any
more, I’ll let you all know. I have 7 different email addresses for Ray too,
I’m not sure which of those is active or being monitored.

Wow, just wow. Just now up to posting after seeing Dave's post earlier this
evening (beautifully-written, btw).
That WAS a great night with Dave and Ray, I fondly remember as well. While
Ray and I disagreed on many things, we always seemed to find a way to
intelligently discuss while maintaining respect, something that is in short
supply in the world today.
God bless his wife who's name escapes me at the moment, I found a post on FB
that indicated that Ray may have passed on March 12th.
We will miss you Ray! #HWGSHWG!!!

Ray was for sure one of the good guys, not afraid to tell you what he
thought. I had many conversations with him on and off list. Wherever he
is, I hope he is able to "live vicariously through the Steelers", as he
was fond of saying.

Hello
For those who weren’t already aware, I’ve been informed that a longtime
friend to so many of us, Ray Kelley, has passed away.
Ray was a friend of mine for nearly 25 years - I still recall the first
time we exchanged messages on the old Steeler list was a wink-and-a-nod
regarding how good Corey Dillon was going to be in the pros. Ray was for
so many years my football conscience, mentor and counsel, roles which he
expanded into so many other areas of my life as well, and we fondly
remember the night we spent in 2014, with Streetr and Ray in Oceanside
where we finally met and watch the Steelers draft Ryan Shazier.
If I get more information about funeral arrangements or rememberences, I
will pass it along, for now, we give thanks for a wonderful life so richly
lived.
Thanks Ray. See you again one day.
