Hi,
GARI is the Global Accessibility Reporting Initiative. Its web site says "We
help consumers to find a device with the accessibility features that work
best for them". GARI collects information on the accessibility of mobile
devices and mobile apps. It then makes this information available for free
to anyone who is interested so they can compare them. GARI is considering
broadening its scope to include so-called white and brown goods, probably
including televisions.
GARI is an initiative of the Mobile Manufacturers' Forum which is, according
to its main site, "an international association of telecommunications
equipment manufacturers with an interest in mobile or wireless
communications".
GARI in Austria has asked me to ask this email list for opinions on how
accessible its web site is when browsed by visually impaired people using
mobile devices. Note that this is a web site, not an app. All comments are
welcome and I will feed them back to GARI.
