Hi All,

I am sending on a copy of the agenda for this years AGM taking place
on Saturday the 12th Of June. Also attached is the minutes from last
years meeting for your review prior to the meeting. I also have
included below the list of motions received for discussion at this
years AGM. These are as follows:

1. Motion to increase the membership fee for lifetime members:

Ciaran Ferry on behalf of VICS committee
I propose that the membership fee for any lifetime members joining
after today (June 12th 2010 - or after this amendment comes into
force) is increased from €100 to €200.

No change to the text of the constitution is necessary.

2. Motion to allow for remote / electronic voting:

Ciaran Ferry

I propose that the method of voting at all VICS meetings should no
longer be restricted to the "show of hands" method. Instead, the
committee will decide on the most workable system, be that electronic
or otherwise.

The constitution currently reads:

10 VOTING
1.All paid up and Honorary members have the
right to vote at the AGM or on any occasion when a vote is required.
2.Voting method to be "Show of
hands".

Amended text:

10 VOTING
1.All current members and Honorary members have the right to vote at
the AGM or on any occasion when a vote is required.
2.Voting method to be "Show of hands", or any other method (or
combination of methods) deemed workable by the committee at the time.

3. Constitutional changes proposed by Nicky Kealy

The constitution currently reads as follows.

3 MEMBERSHIP

Membership will be open to:

1. All visually impaired people.
2. Honorary Membership, which may be bestowed
by members at an Annual General Meeting, on people who have contributed to VICS
in some significant way.
3. Associate Membership, which will be open to
sighted people with an interest in the use of computer Technology for visually
impaired people. Associate Members may
not vote at the AGM, or on any occasion when a vote is required.

I propose the following changes.

Membership will be open to:

1. All people who have an interest, or who would like to have a
genuine interest in Vics.
2. Honorary Membership, which may be bestowed
by members at an Annual General Meeting, on people who have contributed to VICS
in some significant way.
3. Special Interest Membership,   which will be open to
sighted people with an interest in the use of computer Technology for visually
impaired people and who can also offer valuable advice   to vics.
Special Interest Members may
not vote at the AGM, or on any occasion when a vote is required  and
no fee is required from these members.  It is the decision of the
committee to approve
a Special Interest Member and to allow them be involved in any working
group which Vics may have set up in order to benefit from their
expertese.

Thanks
