Very good Paul.

I am now on the FDM site and there's a lot there but what version am I
looking for and better still do you have a direct download link?

It may very well solve my download problem indeed.

Thanks,

Tony Sweeney

        Hi Tony,

That's not a problem, when the manager pops up to take control of
the
downloading file, just before you hit the spacebar on the ok button,
tab
over to where it says, file will be downloaded to c:\downloads and
either
clear this box and type in a new path or tab to the browse button
and select
a folder where you want to have this particular file downloaded
into. Once
you have done this, tab back over to the OK button and hit the
spacebar to
        begin the download process.

        Paul.

        Hi Paul,

        That sounds good indeed.

Now if I want my downloads to go to my documents can I with that
programme?

        Thanks,

        Hi Tony,

You should use a program called "Free Download Manager" from the
        website
called www.freedownloadmanager.org. When installed it creates a
        downloads
folder on the main root of your hard drive, example, c:\downloads.
        This
software takes over control of your file downloads and you can be
        sure to
always find them in the downloads folder after it finishes its work.
Everytime it senses that a file is going to be downloaded it pops up
        and
takes charge of downloading the software or whatever else you want
        to
download at the time. I have used it for years now and its great.
        Completely
free and no spyware or addware.

As soon as it senses a file download it comes up and gives you an ok
        button
or a cancel button No adjustments are necessary, just hit enter on
        the OK
button and let it complete the download. Should you for some reason
        not want
it to take charge of that particular download then just tab to
        cancel and
hit enter on it the download will then be returned to the normal
        windows
        control.

        Paul.

        Hi Tim,

Any tips so the system knows that it is a podcast when I press the
        apps key?

In other words I'm getting everything except 'save target as' at
        times!

It's like that the system doesn't know that the link I'm going to
        hit after
the apps key is a podcast.

        Thanks,

        Tony

        Hi Tony,

Have you tried hitting the apps key before pressing enter on the
download link? Doing it after will be too late as the download
        would have
        begun already.

It might bring up that context menu where you can choose the saze
        as option.

        Tim,

For example I downloaded Audioview and it just went to a
temporary folder where it played but did not ask where I wanted
        downloaded
        to.

I tried to download a documentary from Mushroom FM and it
        did not ask either where.

That file just played for a few minutes and then went round
        on a loop.

I tried to download an album from the Sunday Indo and it
would not let me although I had the correct code but I could listen
        to the
        songs alright!

It kept prompting me to install the latest flash which I did
        but no joy!

I hit enter on a download link then immediately hit the apps
key and go down to 'save target as' and enter but I don't be asked
        where I
        want the file saved to!

I think that say Audioview went to a temp folder something
        like Winamp library.

        Hi Tony,

Do you have a specific example we canlook at?

Your query is a little generic at the moment for
        people to give
        constructive advice.

        Hi Folk,

I try and download remembering 'the save as' and all
        of that and firstly I
am not asked where I want the download to go!

The last programme I downloaded went to some sort of
        temporary folder but
othertimes when I go to play a file it may only play
for a few minutes in a
        loop!

Someone suggested to me that it could be a jaws
        issue!

        I have jaws 11.

I also have the latest flash installed.

        Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Doing my head in it is!
