Hi Tony,
4.2 is quite an old version of JAWS.  What version of Adobe reader or Adobe
acrobat are you running?
I would wonder if you move to a much later version of Adobe acrobat if JAWS
4.2 will run with it.

I think I used to use Adobe Acrobat version 4 with an accessibility plugin
on Windows NT.  I think this was with JAWS 4 (can't remember the exact
version).

From your email it sounds like the problem is that the pdf needs a more
recent Adobe version.
