Hi Maureen
I am with BT for my broad band too and have an eircom e-mail address.
You may need to change a setting as I had this problem at the beginning too
1. Press alt and T
2. Up arrow to accounts and press enter.
3. Tab to properties button and press the space bar.
4. Press control and tab until you come to the servers page.
5. Tab until you come to the outgoing mail edit box and type in mail.iol.ie. You might have to delete what is already in the box.
6. Tab to apply and press enter.

Hope this works for you
Joan Ann.

Subject: [vicsireland] Has anybody experienced this problem?

Hello list members,

I recently changed over to BT broadband but periodically when sending
e/mails they stick in the "out box" and will not go for me. I notice
this happening mostly if I do control and R to answer a message that
comes in. Is it my machine? Is it BT or has anybody else experienced
this problem? An errors list comes up but I cannot decipher it.Any help
welcome!

TA,

Maureen.
