Tony, tim and Michael,
Thanks for the feedback,
Tim, I think the apple products are too dear, the macbook is around 1200
whereas laptops generally seem to come in around 500-600 and to be honest as I
use a windows pc in work I find it hard to get used to the macbook voiceover.
Thanks again.
John.

Hi John and Michael.
Michael did mention this shop to me recently when I was having Laptop trouble
but happily I seem to be sorted now. thanks Michael.
John they are beside you in Aungiers St.
From their site.
About Us
Colin and Wesley Baker, two brothers and best friends, sitting in a bar
somewhere in rural Ireland, discussed their mutual love of technology. Raised
in retail in what is now voted as Irelands top retailer, Decwells Expert DIY in
South Great George's street, it was their dream to run their own technology
store. A place where they could share their love of technology with others,
helping people to enjoy and understand it as they did. As the conversation
flowed through a chat about their favourite film, Back to the Future, the
happy-cheesy eighties classic, an idea was born. To bite the bullet and open a
small store on Dublin's Aungier street, only doors down from Decwells, called
Back from the Future.
Today, 12 years on and just over 34,000 laptop repairs later, Back from the
Future is still much the same. There's no story here about humble beginnings
and star-reaching success- just a business that has stuck to its founding
values of excellent service to the customer, expert, efficient quality of
service and keen, honest pricing on laptops, computer products and repairs and
worked hard to forge an industry leading technology business. The boys
favourite part of the job is on the floor, helping and serving customers and
sorting out problems!! They now a repair lab in Dun Laoghaire, Donnybrook and
Bray. Colin appears regularly on Tv3's Ireland AM and is the Sunday Business
Post resident Technology journalist. Laptoplab is the most advanced repair
facility in the country, with techniques and equipment unavailable elsewhere.
There is essentially NOTHING they can't fix.
Try them out!!!

Hi John
I purchased a Toshiba laptop nearly six years ago from the folks in Back From
The Future and it is still working fine. They will provide good backup and
that is very important.
Regards,
Michael

Subject: [vicsireland] New computer
Hi all,
For the last 6 years I have been using a apple macbook for my home computing
as at the time it was the only laptop/computer that came with a free voice
well NVDA may have been around but I wasn't sure how good it was.
However with the advances with NVDA I am thinking of buying a new
laptop or computer,
Has anyone recently bought a dell computer, I was looking and they have some
deals but it is so long since I looked at the market I don't know would I be
better going for a hp or Toshiba.
Any advice appreciated.
