Hi David and all. Thanks for the info re Navigator and Ireland. Very interesting since, as you say, there is no reference on the web page to Ireland. I would be curious to hear comments from anyone using Navigator, or for that matter, other GPS apps. As well as hearing your pros and cons as regards the different GPS apps, It has always seemed to me that someone with a white cane or guide dog is something of a sitting duck for a mugger when waving a smart phone around or struggling to hear the information. Do you use Bluetooth earpieces in conjunction with the phone, and if so, how user-friendly is the experience? I look forward to any comments -----Original Message----- From: vicsireland-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:vicsireland-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Nason Sent: 13 May 2014 19:31 To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [vicsireland] RNIB Navigator for iPhone Hi all, Just to let you know that the new GPS app from Sendero Group for the iPhone, called RNIB Navigator, is available and works here in Ireland too. It is free to download but requires a monthly subscription of €4.49 to use. The app description only mentions the UK for some reason, but I can confirm it does work here too. I haven't played around with it a lot as yet, but it seems pretty good from my early impressions. I'll probably record a demo in the next week or so. Happy navigating. ==================== The vicsireland mailing list To unsubscribe at any time send a mail to: vicsireland-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe", without the quotes in the subject of the message.
