It's worth mentioning that if you buy a mobile USB broadband datacard from Vodafone or 3 mobile or anyone else for that matter, you have the statutory 14 day cooling off period to try it out in. If it doesn't work to your satisfaction, you can return it to the shop where you bought it within 14 days undamaged and in its original packaging and get a full refund, no questions asked. I tried both the Vodafone and the 3 mobile versions but neither of them worked for me. The vodafone one didn't have a driver to run it on an Intel Mac and the 3 mobile one just didn't work well enough. At home there was zero reception and on the train from Sligo to Dublin it was intermitent at best.
