Hi All,

I broached this subject before with some people of Vics of an earlier
incarnation and was shot down!

I had the privilege in the seventies of founding/editing Sceal Beo [Living
News] as i found the lack of information available to blind people deficient
to say the least!

I have no claim to forming Vics but those four people who started the
society in the eighties have my greatest admiration!

Now to the purpose of my mail.

I do feel again now that it is time for Vics to have a tech list!

I say that as because a number of people have graduated so well that a list
for Vics techys should now definitely be considered.

I know that we have a few members who are in to management, software
developers, computer programmers and analysts etcetera.

I applaud them!

Now would a list for advanced techies be an option for Vics?

I am although a few little years in computers at a low level but i think
that an extra list would be good for people who, really are advanced indeed!

It wouldn't mean that people like myself would be left behind but people
such as I have just outlined would be able to interact between them
comfortably without perhaps wondering about people who are not of that "high
Standard" level.

It would not mean that members of the Vics lists could not be on both or
either should they so desire.

It would probably mean that people, advanced, would perhaps be a little more
cognicent of people who are just learning or who are a while on computers
but are still "struggling" to get there.

I feel that it is worthy of consideration and I would of course welcome
comments and suggestions as to how the idea could be progressed for all of
us on Vics.

After a wonderful 20 years plus of Vics should there not now be perhaps a
little think tank of thought and imagination as to how for us to go
forward?

My thoughts!

Perhaps it would need an AGM motion to what I say so why not start the
discussion now?

Continued success

Tony Sweeney
