Tim,
I am using the iPhone 7s and I have also recently upgraded to IOS 11.1. I
can focus on the clock all right. However, I am struck by the fact that
whenever I move the phone, the clock is spoken! I have a hard cover over the
screen so I assume that the cover might be touching the screen at the time.
I also find that movement generates some spoken action from the phone.

Not sure if anybody else have noticed this.
I've recently upgraded to the iPhone 8 running iOS 11.1.
When I unlock the phone with the home button Voiceover doesn't focus on
the clock.
Actually occasionally it appears to focus on it but as it reads the time it
is interrupted midstream as focus appears to move to the first control at
the top left of the screen.
Most of the rest of the time it doesn't focus on the clock at all.
Not sure if this is an issue with the iPhone 8 or iOS 11, but just wondered
if others have experienced anything similar.
