I should probably note that unless you've specified that your computer should
use your external hard drive for storing temporary files, you shouldn't need to
do a system clean up on it. a defragment might be necessary after a long long
long time but I've never done one and I have my 350GB usb drive for ages now,
copying files on and off almost every day.
sorry again for the false information. Serves me right for jumping to
conclusions.
