Hi, Susan,

Now that I have a bit more time, I can give you some further info around
this.

Often you will not want to put numbers or whatever into one cell, but a
series of them. This is usually either a column (top to bottom) or a row
(side to side) of cells. You don't have to do each one individually.

Let's assume you want to change a column of cells starting at A1 and ending
at A100. Hit F5 and you are put into a box. Type a1:a100 (i.e. a1 followed
by colon followed by a100 with no spaces) and hit Enter. Then, when youhold
down Control and hit the 1 button and do all the things described in my
previous email, the changes will affect all the cells in the range you
specified.

I hope this helps.

Take care,

Gerry Ellis

If you don’t know where you’re going,
How will you know when you get there?

Hi, Susan,

Go into the offending cell. Hold down the Control Key and hit the number 1.
This should bring up the place where you specify what type of cell you are
in. Hit the tab key and you will be in a box that says something like Date.
Use your up and down arrow keys to change this to Number. When you tab you
will be able to specify the number of decimal points and whether or not you
want a comma when the number is greater than 999. Tab till you get to OK and
hit Enter.

I hope this helps.

Take care,

Gerry Ellis
