HI PAUL AND PHILLIP. MIGHT i SUGGEST PURCHASING A OLYMPIS DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER MODEL "PC 3000". i GOT ONE IN LYDLL A WHILE AGO. aLTHOUGH i CAN'T USE THE SCREEN BASED MENUS i DO FIND IT GOOT FOR RECORDING ANY KIND OF MATERIAL. Price 40-50 euros. If you are into taking notes at lectures the battery life is great and recordings can be upto an hour(I can verify this from experience). O.K. is not voice activated for that kind of money but you get accustomed to the basic buttons and the beauty of it is that there is a usb connection so that you can transfer or delete files from the recorder. Recordings are in W.M.A. so there is no problem with listening on your p.c. and recording volume can be checked by using earphones and adjusted with the volume bar as in listening.
