Hi Sabrina
Welcome to the world of Apple.
I can help you with your first query about the phone changing to landscape.
Basicly, what you need to do is lock the phone to the orientation you prefer
i.e portrait or landscape.  To do this, try the following:
Have the phone in portrait or landscape, which ever you find easiest to
manage.
Press the home key twice quickly and you will here VoiceOver say "app
switcher".
Do a 3 finger swipe to the right to switch between the pages and on page2,
you should come across a button that says, lock orientation.  If you double
tap on this, the phone will stop switching orientation.

Hi All,

Firstly in relation to the phone, can any of you tell me how do I turn off
the setting that keeps going in to landscape mode while texting?

As regards setting up your Itunes account to get apps from the store have
any of you come in to problems doing that? How did you do it? I am choosing
existing apple ID have tried registering it just on the phone and with phone
attached to PC using the ITunes prog here on my computer. While on to tech
support yesterday (for over two hours), the tech guy did get my phone
registered while we had it hooked up to computer. But there is something
going on with ITunes. He got me to submit a help request through the express
lane and I am waiting to hear back. I can confirm that my account is active
as regards payment-wise as my payment service confirmed this when they rang
me.

Any suggestions/feedback much appreciated.
