Hi Tony,

"Always taught all the CD info was stored on the disc, but you could get
additional info on the web if available."

I'm not entirely sure what is stored on the disk. However, without
connecting to the CDDB, Windows Media Player and the others will just name
your tracks 'Track 01' etc.

"So if you insert a CD and get stuff like artist unknown album unknown
you can go to the cddb and enter the info yourself?"

Yeah, exactly. I think there is an interface within some media players
which allows you to insert values in to the CDDB, but I can't quite
remember where it is... or if it actually exists in WMP. I've definitely
done it before, but it could've been through Real Player, or even
SonicStage.

"But give us a shout when the shrine opens, any excuse for a download."

Don't hold your breath, I've a lot to do before I get to setting that
up... First of all, I've to sit through this bloody match tonight.

Best wishes,

Tony

Hi Tony.
Always taught all the CD info was stored on the disc, but you could get
additional info on the web if available.
So if you insert a CD and get stuff like artist unknown album unknown
you can go to the cddb and enter the info yourself?
But give us a shout when the shrine opens, any excuse for a download.
Thanks for all the great info.
Tony.
