Hi Tony I know what happened to me when I had my old mp3 player was that if I put a blank CD I'd burned, it could sometimes locate the track info off the web and it would ask you if the info matched the content of your CD. It usually did. But if it came up artist unknown, yes, you'd have to undertake the painstaking process of entering the artist name and track yourself.
