Hi Tim.
Thanks for passing on the content. Yes, I am aware of the problem with Outlook
but sent the response in the hope that someone would do exactly what you have
done!
While on the subject, Dominique has been engaging with RTE quite a lot
regarding the latest app update, as has Flor. They have posted their emails
and responses on the VIPS list.

RE: [vicsireland] RTÉ Player app
Hi Kathleen and Paul,
I'm presuming you are both using Outlook to read Mark and Eamon's messages?
There is an issue with Outlook which can result in some messages appearing
blank when sent to a mailing list in a specific format.
Mark / Eamon, if you can make sure you are sending messages in plain text
format that would help.
You can always read the messages using another mail client such as Thunder
Bird or if using the iPhone then the iPhone mail app.
I've pasted in the contents of Mark and Eamon's messages below.

[vicsireland] RE: [vicsireland] RE: [vicsireland] RTÉ Player app This is bad
news Dave and thanks for pointing this out. It's terribe to see an accessible
service degrading because nobody is paying attention. I suggest you contact the
RTE Accessibility Officer and the RTE Player team.
The Accessibility Officer used to be Isabel Charleton but she has retired so
I'm trying to find out who has replaced her in that role. When I find out I
will talk to them myself and also give you their contact details.
The Player team can be contacted by emailing playerfeedback@xxxxxx.
On the RTE website under Access to RTÉ's Services for People with Disabilities
it says Section 26 (1) of the Disabilities Act 2005 requires a public body to
provide access to its services to people with disabilities where practical and
appropriate. If a member of the public feels that RTÉ in its provision of
services discriminates against a person with a disability a complaint may be
made to complaints@xxxxxx.
We need to let them know that this isn't acceptable.

Hi folks,
I rarely use the player, so have no real experience as to its accessibility.
However, I have a memory in the back of my mind, that a few years ago, someone
was hired specifically to revamp the player, so it would be accessible.
Having said that though, I'm not sure if it was the radio or tv player.
Perhaps it rings a bell with some others on the list?
Mark, many thanks for the contact info. I'll certainly take a look at it now.
A very happy New Year to those on the list, and thanks for all the advice
during 2018.
Eamonn
