Just been on a distro tour. Every one I can find is now carrying V 1.4.0.1, so
if you can't or don't want to self-build you can still get it.
A couple of small details:
You may have noticed that "64ft Organ" seems to have been changed. This hasn't
actually changed acoustically, but I recently noticed the sub-bass content was
shifted heavily to the RH channel - at such low frequencies you won't hear any
stereo positioning. There appears to be something odd with the low pass filters
when set to extreme levels, so I slightly changed the filter Q and added a
small left shift pan. This means your amplifier will have an easier time.
Following a discussion on Rosegarden:
On the subject of control ranges, originally Yosh/Zyn had a reduced MIDI volume
range, so as soon as you start up Rosegarden it immediately drops the level of
any parts that are active. I don't know why this was done, but a couple of
years ago we added a volume range setting in part controllers. This defaults
to the same value for compatibility, but if increased to maximum then gives a
1:1 relationship. If you prefer that, it's probably best to set it for all part
controllers then do a state save.
Hmmm. I wonder if we should provide a switch to auto-load a default saved state.
