Greetings everyone; I hope this message finds you all well! I write to ask a
question about Yoshimi, Midi and Jack. I have no issues using Yoshimi with
Alsa and my Midi keyboard; I just boot it up and aconnect. However, when I try
to use Yoshimi with Jack I can't connect my keyboard to the synth. I try to
specify that alsa midi should be used with the -a=20 (20 is my keyboard) but
Yoshimi refuses to use the alsa midi interface when Jack is enabled. This makes
recording the synth impossible, which is disappointing because I would really
like to use it in my songs. Does anyone have a solution? How could I connect my
Midi keyboard to Yoshimi using only Jack? I have tried to find answers with no
success. I am a blind Linux user and I do not wish to use qjackctl, which seems
to be the go-to-all for most Linux users. I would prefer to connect using just
the command line. as I stated before when I use Jack Yoshimi refuses to open a
port for Alsa Midi input even with the proper -a switch.
Thank you so much for the help! I would really like to thank everybody who
developes Yoshimi, especially the consideration for blind folks like myself. It
means a great deal to me.
