I figured it out after reading the manual for jack which I should have done
before. For some reason Jack wasn't adding Midi ports automatically, so for the
alsa backend I had to do -X and then either raw or seq. That adds my midi
keyboard to jack_lst and I can just connect to yoshimi:midi in. Hopefully that
helps if someone else has confusion with Jack. Thanks for the response, Will;
you're the man! :) I'm really enjoying Yoshimi, the banks provided are
excellent! Has there been any work on adding instrument editing from the
command line? Is it possible to create new instruments with a hex editor? On
