[yoshimi-user] PlanetCCRMA now running on my stage box

Finally got the motivation (udevd errors after an update in Debian
Testing) and time to try PlanetCCRMA on the stage box. Definitely,
definitely recommended. Lots of Debian Testing bugs nonexistent, and
packages as new and newer. Performance shockingly good.

I really like the idea of running a distro setup where updates are
unlikely to kill the box, and this is the only pro audio setup I know of
which fits that. A friend has a new Indamixx laptop, and although it is
clearly very good, its update path is raw Ubuntu, which (so a report on
the Indamixx forums said) is death to the setup, requiring reload. The
same is clearly true of Debian Testing.

Am running the provided realtime kernel. On certain nVidia video
chipsets, e.g., mine (reports say, any of them which use shared main
memory for VRAM), it can get a bit dicey, because the new 'nouveau'
nVidia driver is the default, and it doesn't support everything yet.
But there are very good ways to work around that using the nVidia binary
drivers, and I caught wind of a way to do with with VESA too (though
didn't bother to take that all the way).

And, have compiled Yoshimi successfully, 0.055.3. More soon.

J.E.B.
