Hello,
I'm trying to understand how the "frequency tracking" parameter in the
filter of adsynth works. If I get it right, basically it will change the
center frequency of the filter according to the MIDI note that is
revieved. However, I've got two problems:

1) how does it relate to the "center frequency"? Will the resulting
frequency be a weighted mean between the "C. freq" knob and the
"freq.tr." knob, the weight of the tracked frequency depending on the
value of its knob?

2) I'm experiencing an unexpected behaviour. I've created an easy
adsynth, with only one voice set to noise. Then set a
bandpass filter with Q and frequency tracking set to maximum values.
What I'm expecting of course is to here a defined pitch defined by the
note I'm sending yoshimi. This works as expected with this instrument

where I've done the above in the voice's own filter, bypassing the
global filter. However, when I turn off the voice's filter and try
using the global one, like this

I get some randomness on the frequency of the bandpass filter, i.e. on
the heard pitch. I mean that if I repeatadly press the same key on my
MIDI keyboard, I get a varying pitch. Where does this randomness come
from?

any kind of help is much appreciated :)

cheers
renato
