... and two fingers would be the response. I acknowledge the attraction, but
as previously stated, it's beyond both my interest and my capabilities.
Note that I use the Mac OS X platform so am also interested in getting
yoshimi ported there as a standalone synth app or some kind of plugin -
I've had a brief attempt at compiling - what barriers are there to
compiling outside linux?

Way back when I first started poking about with the code, a mac port was
a vague background ambition. The main impediment to progress has been the
fact that I still don't own a mac. For MacOS X it'd need an audio/midi
engine working to CoreAudio, right? Over a year ago I had a quick look at
the api, and I don't think it'd be all that hard to produce such a beast.
And I don't think it'd take too much #ifdeffing to get the code to build.
CMake offers some assistance in that.
