I'm very happy with speed of plain 802.11b with 1mb ADSL connection which is
easily fast enough to cope with hard web browsing. I'm pretty sure it would
manage 2mb.

Hi,

This is utter buncum!!

True; I am using wired connections because I have ethernet cards on my
machines, and they aren't too far out from other machines, but I have
set up a lot of wireless connections for people where they are only
using the wireless connection.

I wouldn't want to do anything like upgrade firmware remotely, but the
connections are very stable especially with modern hardware.

Thanks.
Andrew.

Mark,

Wireless is fine for reading the mail in the sitting room on the laptop,
but personally you would be better connecting your machine on a wire for
serious use.

Cheers

Andrew
